Agmark Registration (Agricultural Marketing and Grading) is a mark that is certified by the government. Governed under the Agricultural Produce (Grading & Marking) Act, 1937 and a 1986 Amendment, this certification demonstrates that the agricultural items are of a good standard as well as good quality. Agmark is a mix of two words: AG+MARK, where AG represents agriculture and Mark represents certification. This mark incorporates the following types of items:

  • Agriculture and Horticulture items
  • Food and drinks that are either entirely produced or partly produced and partly manufactured

In all, it incorporates around 213 products which include cereals, pulses, vegetable oil, and other semi-processed goods.

Document Required for Agmark Registration

The documents required for Agmark Registration are:-

  • Copy of the report of product inquiry from a lab recognized by Agmark authority.
  • Copy of the registration of the company or the establishment’s establishment, such as a copy of the document issued by the Registrar of Companies.
  • If the applicant is a company then the copy of Memorandum of Association.
  • If the applicant is a partnership firm, then a copy of Partnership Deed must be in which the firm and the Partnership Rule Law are mentioned.
  • The name of the product for which the applicant wants the standard.
  • The applicant’s name should also be mentioned in the application form.
  • The name and address of the organization.
  • Product Sample.
  • The productive capacity of the previous and present year.
  • Turnover of the company last year.
  • Demand Draft.
  • Drawing of office or factory.
  • Memorandum of the company in which the company’s powers and goals are mentioned.
  • List of machinery.
  • Trademark Registration Certificate.

Process of Agmark Registration

For the application of the AGMARK Registration, the applicants are requisite towards following the procedure by the AGMARK authority.

  • Firstly one needs to prepare the documents necessary for the application filling in the AGMARK authority.
  • Then one needs to file the application at the regional AGMARK Registration
  • Then one needs to submit a hard copy of the application along with the documents.
  • After reviewing the application, an inspection team will visit the physical site for inspection.
  • On successful inspection, the AGMARK Registrationshall be issued to the applicant.
  • AGMARK Registrationmark is issued within 30-40 days of the submission of the application.
